Our Mission

Missouri Concerns of Police Survivors (MOCOPS) is a Chapter of the National Concerns of Police Survivors. Inc. (C.O.P.S.).

Our Mission Statement: Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, COPS provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.

Members eligible to use the services of Concerns of Police Survivors are: family members (spouse, son, daughter, parent, and sibling), extended family members, significant others, and co-workers of any Law Enforcement Officer who died in the line of duty.

Affiliate membership is available to Law Enforcement personnel, business/community leaders and citizens interested in the work of COPS. Affiliate members are not eligible to vote or hold office.

MOCOPS provides grassroots, local support for survivors in Missouri using a strong peer support network. We are here to lend a helping hand to existing survivors and those who will be affected in the future.

Benefits assistance is available immediately following a line-of-duty death and on-going as needed by the family and department.

COPS' programs for survivors include the National Police Survivors' Conference held each May during NATIONAL POLICE WEEK, scholarships, peer-support at the national, state, and local levels, "C.O.P.S. Kids" counseling reimbursement program, the "C.O.P.S. Kids" Summer Camp, "C.O.P.S. Teens" Outward Bound experience for young adults, special retreats for spouses, parents, siblings, adult children, and in-laws, as well as trial/parole support.
